Ancient Materials and Eternal Truths
It all began with an idea to raise money for missions. I had seen a video of apologist Wesley Huff who had made a facsimile of P52 from the dead sea scrolls of Qumran. I thought to myself. It can’t be that hard to make these facsimiles, can it? Well it was more difficult than I initially anticipated. Simply because I had to learn how to write Hebrew. But I was able to learn by using resources like the Strong’s Concordance and the Blue Letter Bible App. Then I wondered. How can I create a product that people can use, that will be a conversation starter, but still be affordable? That’s how the bookmarks came to be.
All of the ancient bible products are made with Papyrus paper. Which is the same paper that was used during the time of Christ. The Hebrew letters of all the products are hand written using a reed pen. The scribes, particularly in Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Sumer commonly used reed pens. The reed pen was carefully crafted from the reed plants found in the Judean wilderness. The end of the pen, known as the nib. Was carefully cut so it could hold and deposit ink onto the surface the scribes were using. Whether that was clay tablets or the papyrus paper. These products are carefully crafted to be as biblically accurate as possible. Even the tassel on the bookmarks is a detail that comes straight from the Bible and Jewish traditions. All of this was done so you could have and hold a real life connection to ancient times. To make the Bible come alive to you in a tangible way.
